Which novels and comics tell original stories? I'm not really interested in direct adaptations of the games. Mostly I want new stories that fit with the canon of the games.

Good question. Evidently none of us know the answer.

The only AC book I read was Assassin's Creed Origins: Desert Oath by Oliver Bowden (thanks to Double McStab with Cheese for giving it to me). It's a prequel to the events of the game, telling the story of Bayek as a teenager. If you like assassins in Egypt this could be a good choice for you.

You won't even feel the blade.

What stabguy said. That's the only one I read. Amazon had an original voice acted audiobook that was really cool. Don't remember the name, but DAZ told me about it. I remember it being really cool anyway.

Assassin's Creed: Gold, yeah it's a cool Original.
Always fun when an audiobook has multiple VA's in it.

Currently listening to the audiobook for "assassin's creed golden city" myself, it's based in Constantinople covering both Hytham and Basim.
A prequel to the two in Valhalla but kinda post Assassins Creed: Mirage (whatever happens in that one).
