Because this is a slightly smaller and more friendly community than many other forums (in my experiecne anyway) this idea may not be appropriate or met with much approval, but has a rep. system ever been considered for THB? Is it even possible to implement using the site's layout?

The reason I raise this point is because I often see comments/points made that I fully agree with and that I would have raised myself and sometimes I want to acknowledge this. However, I feel quoting somebody merely to say "I agree." is completely pointless and instead a +rep. would be a lot simpler.

What does anyone else think? Stab, feel free to shoot me down by saying it isn't possible or is not appropriate for the site but it was just something I thought I'd mention. Smile

meh

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which

I don't know. I'm all for it I suppose, don't have any real reason to be against it.
Not sure as to how complicated it will be to implement. You would be adding in a button and a counter for each individual user, as well as new users that arrive/sign up.

I've actually been in positions where I don't feel the need to reply to a comment, but still want to give it a thumbs up or something. But is it necessary? Or will it turn into a fad where people post topics solely to get more likes?

I think our community is a bit better than that.

There was previously a request for a karma system on The Hidden Blade. Phi shot it down and it didn't gain any traction.

I will look into what modules are available for like/unlike, karma, etc. and see if there's any consensus on implementing one of them here.

You won't even feel the blade.

I still hold the opinion stated in the thread stabguy linked to. Wink

There used to be a ranking system on AC-Maps, but that was solely based on the number of posts and not on quality of the poster. I don't think implementing a karma system would be that difficult, but like many others I don't see a necessity for it. I think the quality topics on this site are already highlighted by a large amount of feedback or "hot thread" status as Stab refers to it.

Yeah, it's not totally necessary.
I think we've worked just fine without it, and I know I should be more open to CHAAANGES and all that good stuff, but I'm also gonna quote "If it ain't borked, don't repairamafy it."
